Design Review

The goal of design review is to present the proposed solution to non-tech stakeholders of the feature to give them the opportunity to challenge the proposed solution, to collect buy-in and to re-check priorities.

Basics

Frequency: Ad-hoc

Duration: As short as possible (rather do several quick ones)

Participants: PM, Designer, Stakeholder

Goal

1. Validate issue and present test-findings

  • Check the status & priority of tasks

  • Inform about changing product priorities

2. Introduce the feature

  • Inform about upcoming product features:

    1. Which screen(s) are affected

    2. User journey changes

    3. Design changes

    4. The motivation for the changes

    5. Assumption/ design tests completed

  • Stakeholders challenge assumption/ proposed solution

3. Prioritize the feature & plan next steps

  • Re-check priority/ urgency

  • Complete RICE score if possible

  • Agree on action items and deadlines

  • Ask each person responsible to repeat their to-dos and deadlines

  • Do summary of meeting in feature channel in slack
